We were delighted to receive so many ‘translations’ of Stan’s post, and we enjoyed every one of them. Although we asked for entries to be written in Business English, most of you took poetic licence and wrote parodies of your own. The ones we liked best were Joe McVeigh’s, for making us laugh and pulling no punches, and Thredder’s, for abiding by the task guideline and doing it so well. Both Joe and Thredder win Macmillan dictionaries of their choice (please contact us to let us know which dictionary you would like), and we’d like to say a sincere thank you to everyone who took part.
Wow! Thanks for the kind words. And thanks for the competition. The only thing that could make this better would be if my career got involuntarily realigned because I translated Stan’s letter on company time. I’m sure there’s a word in the Macmillian dictionary for that. I’m thinking it’s “hilarious.”
