Refudiate

Sarah Palin’s recent attempt at coining the word ‘refudiate’ – a blend of the words refute and repudiate – made it one of the most popular dictionary searches this summer, according to the Huffington Post. Some of the new words recently added to Macmillan Dictionary Online are also splicings of two words; check out bloggerati, made from blog and glitterati, or favicon, made from favourite and icon.  Do you have any favourite blended words? Feel free to submit any suggestions for new blends to the Open Dictionary.
