Words on your mind – rave review

This month, lots of people looked up the Macmillan Dictionary definition of rave review. In fact, it was the fifth most popular search. Why though? Have you all just seen a fabulous play or an amazing pop concert? What was this incredible event and why wasn’t I invited? (Humph!)

Let’s face it, a rave review is something we would all like to have. Here is an example of one from the Internet. The opposite of giving a rave review is to pan something, ‘the new Hollywood film was panned by critics’; another choice could be the verb to slate, ‘the band’s new CD was universally slated’.

Well – may I wish you all rave reviews for whatever you do!
